My Story [and I'm sticking to it]
Act 1 - Fell in love with the play of light and shadow holding my dad's rangefinder camera when I was 12 years old.
Act 2 - I studied computer science at Indiana University, but still felt the urge to document all of the interesting people and life around me. As my passion continued to grow and unfold, I made the decision to follow my dream as a visual artist.
Act 3 - Moved to Washington, D.C. thirty two years ago, and have been covering breaking news and events, and some of the most fascinating people in the world.
I have photographed the last six presidential inaugurations, traveled far and wide for assignments, photographed an astonishing number of heads of states, brilliant scholars, writers, politicians, and artists. I have learned something new from every person I have come in contact with.
I have been truly blessed in life and I believe strongly in the power of giving. Here are my favorite charitable organizations who are good stewards of our gifts and to whom we give regularly:
Dast2Dast.org, Flashes of Hope, Children's National Medical Center, International Society of Children with Cancer, Omid Foundation.
